In short
We collect as little as we can. We ask for your name, email and shipping address when you buy the book so we can mail it to you. We do not use advertising trackers, sell your information, or send you marketing email unless you have subscribed to the newsletter yourself.
When you buy the book
Checkout is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your name, email address, shipping address and card details. Your card number goes only to Stripe; we never see it. Stripe sends us your name, email, shipping address and order details so we can ship the book, send you a tracking email, and keep a record of the sale. Stripe's own handling of your data is described in the Stripe Privacy Policy.
When you subscribe to the newsletter
Astral America is published on Substack. When you subscribe, your email address is held by Substack under the Substack Privacy Policy. You can unsubscribe from any issue.
When you email us
If you write to us, we keep the correspondence for as long as we need it to handle your question or order.
Visiting the site
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying individual visitors. The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google under Google's Privacy Policy.
How we use what we hold
We use it to ship your order, tell you it has shipped, answer your questions, and keep the accounting and tax records the law requires. That is all. We do not share your details with anyone for their own marketing.
Who else sees it
Stripe, to take payment. The US Postal Service or another carrier, whose label carries your name and address. Cloudflare, which hosts the site. Our accountant or a tax authority, where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for seven years for tax purposes. Email correspondence is kept only as long as it is useful.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will do so unless tax law requires us to keep a record of the sale. Email info@whytrumpwins.com.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear here with a new date at the top.
